The Kennri (TM) was first conceived in July of 2000 when the creator met different students from Africa at the Univ of Iowa who taught her about the circumstances for the majority of children in Africa. At first it was called Porta-School.



​​PATENT-PENDING

The creator first filed for a provisional patent in July of 2000, but because of limited funding did not file again until July of 2012. During the interim, Dr. Muir has adopted new technology and new techniques while keeping abreast of international education needs and is now registered with UNESCO as a certified expert in Distance Learning.  Awarded the Global Educator of the Year Award in 2010 by CCLP, Dr.Muir is widely published and continues her work to make basic education available to students around the world.

LEGAL STATUS

The Keannari (TM) is a "product" of the One World School, LLC, registered as a not-for-profit in the state of Illinois in the USA. As a non-for-profit company, a minimum of 55% of its annual profit is returned to the company for research and development, and to provide scholarships for international students.

Presented three years ago at Russia's First Online Education Conference in Moscow, Russia.  This paper explores the status of Russian Education and the need for alternative education for Russia's youth,and the viability of using the internet as the delivery method. (Available at http://www.academia.com)
